Implant dentistry is a prosthetically driven discipline with a surgical component. Practitioners must place implants ideally for best prosthetic outcomes using different types of surgical guides. Sometimes no such guides are used by experienced implantologists, but many would agree that the use of a surgical guide would be a more conservative and efficient approach to implant placement. In the era of rapidly advancing technologies in digital dentistry, guided implant surgeries are becoming more practical in everyday implant dentistry and can be utilized safely to yield more predictable and consistent results. After this course, a doctor can have fundamental knowledge about implant guided surgeries, should be able to design and fabricate own implant surgical guides using different sources, and perform implant surgeries utilizing an implant guided surgical kit.
These beef ribs approximately 10 cm long, look more or less like a long mandible with similar crystal bone thickness and height/width.
Individual CBCT will be done on these ribs and an individual tailored static guide with sleeves will be prepared to insert 4 implants which will follow and respect the All on 4 protocol.
(i.e.) 2 distal implants will be planned TILTED approximately 30 degrees and 2 central Implants will be planned as STRAIGHT.
The candidate will be asked to place the guide correctly and stabilize with the stabilizing ping so as not to move the guide during the drilling.
During hands on session candidate will also experience audio-visual of the planning software for implant placement for static guide manufacturing. Besides the candidates will be taught the techniques of impression taking and immediate loading on all on 4 implants.
At the end of the course these candidates should be confident enough to put into practice the technique of Implant Surgery using a Computer Guide.
Since the lecture presentation will also inform them about the pros and cons they will be expected to manage the cons with ease.
This presentation and hands on will also make them more confident with the application of All on 4 protocol when indicated.
The candidate will also get an insight of planning software implant placement and the techniques of identifying important vital structure such as the inferior alveolar nerve.
Upon completion, attendees will be able to:
Value benefits & limitations of guided surgery1
Understand and avoid implant placement errors3
Improve your skills on straight and tilted implants placement on beef rib (near human bone)2
At the end of the course you will be CME certified with Skillian. Added advantage to your portfolio!4
